Congratulating the Bridegroom:

75th Anniversary of WWII

Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears

July 1, 2020

Seventy-five years after the World War Two,

Red square celebration with so much ado.

The once proud Soviet winner no longer stood,

Changing to western winner started and grew.

As confident and boasting as Putin knew,

It’s election slogan and also his view.

Give me twenty years as he said with rue,

I will build Russia strong and anew.

Still ambitious as he likes to pursue,

After four terms and five governments through,

Puzzled Putin found it hard to chew.

Where is the light of glory long overdue?

Once at the world top respecting very few,

Even America was afraid of Khrushchev’s shoe.

With Gorbachev’s new thought introduced,

A giant social experiment ever ensued.

The whole red empire was like a zoo.

Trying to be others can never be you.

Democracy and free economy may not do.

Racing as a rookie ends only in Timbuktu.

Transcending never suddenly appears.

With innovation the dream could be yours.

Only when seeking the Soviet root of truth,

And believe not in Moscow’s tears.
